Pay Per Click Optimization Software

{ Posted on 9:53 PM by Mack }

by: Stephen Carter

If you have heard that the key to pay per click optimization is software that tracks your conversions and reports back on what is working and what is not, then you are a step ahead of the hundreds of thousands of pay per click marketers who are wondering why they are having such trouble making their campaigns profitable.

In order to perform conversion tracking you generally have to attach a tracking ID to your advert destination URLs, and then ensure that the tracking ID is passed all the way through to the merchant Thank You page shown when a prospect finally makes a purchase and earns you some money.

Because merchants have an easier time of implementing conversion tracking (as they have access to their own merchant sales and Thank You pages, which affiliates do not), I am going to talk about the options for affiliates who need to use some kind of PPC tracking software to optimize their pay per click campaigns.

Most of the advice that I have read on the subject of conversion tracking tells you how to add tracking IDs to the keyword-level destination URLs that you specify when you set up your ad campaigns using a pay per click service like Google AdWords, Yahoo Search Marketing, or Microsoft AdCenter. However, this is not the only option available to you.

Another way to track your adverts is to apply tracking URLs on the fly. This can only be done with the use of tracking software, and is the method used by Jeremy Palmer's Optimize My Site conversion tracking software. Jeremy is a super affiliate who spends hundreds of thousands of dollars every year on his pay per click marketing.

It was precisely because he was spending a fortune on PPC traffic brokering that he needed a way to figure out how to optimize his campaigns. Most of his money was going down the drain because he could not tell which of his campaigns were making sales, and which were not. Today he has a very accurate picture of what is going on with his PPC accounts. In fact, his Optimize My Site software provides a kind of x-ray vision that allows him to easily tweak his campaigns for maximum profitability.

The way Jeremy's software works is that it allows one to import existing ad campaigns into the Optimize My Site database, and then rewrite the destination URLs in a form that redirects the visitor momentarily (after they have clicked on an advert) through a tracking script that generates a tracking ID unique to the visitor. This is then sent on to the affiliate network when the visitor heads off to the merchant site and makes a purchase.

Well, that's how it works in a nutshell. If you want to find out how Optimize My Site works in more detail, you can read my in-depth review of the software on my Optimize My Site Review page. There you will discover why I used the term "flash of genius" to describe Jeremy's implementation of the ad conversion tracking, and you will see why this pay per click optimization software has earned high marks from those who have used it.

Pay Per Click Bid Management Strategies

by:Stephen Carter

Managing your pay per click keyword bid values can be a time-consuming and tedious task. It can also be incredibly stressful. For the few among us who can afford to pay others for their services, having someone else manage the job is an option. For the remainder of us, some other bid management strategy is called for. Usually one involving software.

Fortunately, the most important part of the bid management process involves looking at campaign performance, and this IS something that can be determined by applying suitable software to the ad campaign while it is running. Of course, what I am talking about is conversion tracking software. This is software that tracks every click taken by a prospect as they follow one of your pay per click ads all the way through to the merchant Thank You page which is shown after a successful sale.

Most pay per click marketers are not the merchants themselves, but affiliates
of the merchant who earn a commission with every sale. Because of this I am going to assume that you are an affiliate looking to optimize the bids on your campaigns for maximum profitability. In particular, you'd like to remove from your campaigns all those ads and keywords that are costing you money because they are being clicked on, but they are not making you any sales. For those keywords that remain, you would like to know whether to increase or decrease your bid values to improve your return on investment.

In order to track a prospect, you can either add tracking IDs to the destination URLs that go into your advertisements, or (less widely known) you can add tracking IDs on the fly. In the latter case each visitor gets their own unique tracking ID, and this can be used to infer a great deal of information about not only the performance of your adverts, but also the customers that ultimately bring in a commission for you.

One such piece of conversion tracking software that performs on the fly tracking ID generation is Jeremy Palmer's Optimize My Site application. Jeremy is well-known in the affiliate marketing industry as a super affiliate who spends hundreds of thousands of dollars every year on pay per click advertising. He developed his software as a personal tool to allow him to see how his ad campaigns were performing at the keyword level and beyond.

After several years of refining his conversion tracking tool he decided to release the application as an inexpensive commercial product for affiliates. Now that he has, Optimize My Site has been receiving some very good press, and customers have supported Jeremy's contention that this is the best ad tracking application on the market.

But how accurate are the claims?

Well, I decided to have a closer look at the software recently, and I have now written an in-depth review on my Optimize My Site Review page. There you will discover why I used the term "flash of genius" to describe Jeremy's implementation of the ad conversion tracking, and you will see why this pay per click optimization software has earned high marks from those who have used it.

Great Advertising Resources for Your Home Business

by:Curt Miller

When it comes to the success of your home business, advertising is a key factor. If you do not advertise your home business effectively, no one is going to know about it and you are not going to get any customers. If you think advertising your home business means throwing an ad in the yellow pages and placing a few newspaper ads, you had better think twice. There are many other advertising resources available for your home business and if you are not using them, you are missing out on the advertising jackpot. Post Cards, Business Cards, and Brochures

Every single home business needs to invest in print advertising materials. At the least, you will need a professional business card and many home businesses opt for the benefits of post card and brochure advertising as well.

If you go to a local printing company, you might have to spend hundreds of dollars on printed materials for your home business. Thanks to the Internet, you have much more cost-effective means of getting the advertising materials you need.

After trying numerous online printing services, we found iPrint to offer the best in terms of quality, pricing and service. At iPrint you can get 250 business cards for less than twenty bucks, 100 standard post cards for about twenty-five dollars and five-hundred full-color tri-fold brochures for about three hundred dollars. The website allows you to upload your own custom designs or you can use one of their free templates to create the look and feel you want for your printed materials.

Internet Advertising

Internet advertising is critical to the success of any home business, but not all Internet advertising is equally effective. If you want Internet advertising that really works, you are going to want to invest in cost-per-click advertising.

With cost-per-click advertising, you pay a certain amount of money for each website visitor taken to your site. Because the only people clicking on your ad are people who actually want to see what you have to offer, the conversion ratio for this type of advertising can not be beat.

When utilizing cost-per-click advertising, you put your ad on a high-traffic website and for advertising on that site you pay a certain amount for the average number of clicks you will receive. For example, if your home business sells video games, you would want your text ad to appear on a video game enthusiast website. If you wanted a cost-per-click of ten cents and you wanted to pay a total of one-hundred dollars, you would get about one-thousand visitors to your website.

AdBrite is a company that allows you to place your cost-per-click ad directly on the hottest websites, providing you with a massive amount of leads for your home business. Want your home business ad to appear on the Uploading.com website? Who would not? Uploading.com is the leading provider of secure file upload, transfer and sharing services. It has an Alexa ranking of 517 and receives more than half a million page views each day. With AdBrite, you can have your home business ad on the Uploading.com website for a full seven days for just $523.

The average cost-per-click when you advertise on the Uploading.com site through AdBrite is six cents, so that means for the $523 you pay, you will get more than eight thousand visitors who have made the decision to go to your website through the ad you placed. You could not ask for more cost-effective advertising.

If you can not afford to shell out that much money to start with, AdBrite has literally hundreds of website advertising opportunities to choose from and some start at less than ten bucks a week so you do not have to be left out of the cost-per-click game.

If you want your home business ad shown on the hottest sites on the web, go to Adbrite.com.

In addition to cost per click advertising, you may want to look into pay-per-click advertising. With pay-per-click advertising, you list your text ad with a website or search engine and place a bid to pay a certain amount of money per click you receive. The more you bid, the better your ad placement will be.

When someone performs a search for the keywords you have selected for your website, they will see your ad. If they click on your ad, you pay the amount you agreed to pay for each click. If you agreed to pay twenty cents a click and one-hundred people clicked on your ad, you would pay twenty dollars for one-hundred visitors. This is another highly-effective way to get targeted traffic to your home business website.

At GoGoHub.com, pay-per-click advertising is really affordable because the searches are localized... therefore you don't waste money on clicks from people who are out of your local area.

Promotional Gifts

Everyone loves getting a gift and while great customer service is first when it comes to customer loyalty, promotional gifts run a close second. Your best customers need to know that you appreciate their business and promotional gifts are a great way to do that. However, promotional gifts serve a dual purpose. Not only do they show valued customers your appreciation, they also advertise your home business and are a constant reminder of the products and services you offer.

For a long time, it was hard for fledgling home businesses to customize and order promotional gifts for their customers. Because most companies would require a home business to place a substantial minimum order, the costs were quite prohibitive. While it may be fine to pay four or five dollars for a customized hat to give away, when you have to order five hundred of those hats, it can wreck havoc on your home business budget.

Thanks to the Internet, this is no longer a problem for home business owners. Websites like CafePress.com allow customers to create customized promotional gifts to give to their customers and they do not have any minimum order requirements. Whether you want to order one promotional gift or one hundred, CafePress.com can serve your needs.

Using PPC to Drive Profitable Retail Sales

{ Posted on 9:36 PM by Mack }

by: Tug Search

Get the Keywords right - Start with an exhaustive list of keywords. Be ready to prune quickly- Concentrate on precise, relevant keywords. - If you sell Retro/Novelty t-shirts you should bid on ‘paris hilton t-shirt' and avoid ‘paris hilton clothes'- Organise your campaign into highly relevant ad groups that include only the keywords that convert into sales within your CPA target. Eg. ‘paris hilton keywords', ‘star wars keywords', ‘dirty dancing keywords' etc.

Get the Ads right - Test 3-4 ads for each of your ad groups.- Write relevant, benefit focused ad copy. Look for the ones that get the highest click through rates and conversion rates.- For Retail, our experience shows that the following is the best ad format:* Title: Paris Hilton T-shirts - consumer benefit: ‘They have exactly the item I am looking for'* Description 1: All your favourite Retro & Novelty Tees - consumer benefit: ‘They also have other items I might like'* Description 2: Order today, Get it tomorrow! - consumer benefit: ‘I can get my items quickly and easily'* Display URL: www.BrandURL.com/BuyNow - branding and call to action

Get the Landing Page right - Land consumers onto the most relevant page on your site. - Ideally you would have a page that only includes your breadth of Paris Hilton t-shirts.- Links to the rest of the range should be obvious and easy to navigate.- Other consumer benefits such as free postage & packaging, and sales should be obvious. Cross-sell similar items.- Ensure that the sales process is quick and easy

Analyse and Optimise for Profit - Track and record the value of each sale at the keyword level- When optimising, include your margins and the cost of media in your reports, to determine which are your profitable keywords- Depending if you are looking for volume or only profitable individual sales, prune your keyword list accordingly.

Let PPC influence the Product Range - Some items are not easy to describe and are not searched for. Concentrate on the keywords for items in your range that are searched for regularly, and then cross-sell your other items on the landing page.- If you see a high number of ad impressions and clicks for an ad group, with a low number of sales it could be that a product range is popular but you don't have the breadth of choice being searched for. Let the PPC data influence your range.- Ranges that are popular should be broadened and stocked regularly to support the PPC campaign.

PPC working with your other Marketing Communications - If you have a recognized brand, include this prominently in your PPC ad copy. ‘Official Site' is a strong consumer benefit.- Support good PR with ‘As seen IN' and ‘As seen ON' ad copy. This traditionally drives higher sales for several days after the release.- Brand awareness banner campaigns can greatly increase your PPC brand sales, which are traditionally the cheapest. - Support your PPC campaign with a robust SEO strategy for your broader keywords that drive traffic but have a higher conversion cost through PPC- Ultimately PPC should be driving your regular sales, filling in the troughs, made by the peaks from your other bursts of online and offline communications.

Pointers for Squeeze Page Ppc’s

Many Internet marketers are rushing to put up squeeze page PPC's (Pay-Per-Click) on their website. Unfortunately, a good number of them make a couple of mistakes which, instead of increasing web traffic and sales, only serve to make visitors click somewhere else.
A few points that should be considered when writing a squeeze page PPC:

* The product/service being offered
* The target customers
* How to rouse their interest
* The steps they need to take to purchase the product/service

It is advisable to write down all your ideas, if only to get them clearly thought out. Things can be pared down to the most essential elements after that.

It is helpful to view your squeeze page as a summary of your website's products and services. The immediate objective is to convert visitors into customers, or, at least, to have them take some sort of interested action which can be followed-up with soon after.

A good trick to make a squeeze page PPC successful is to put some of the customer's information (which he volunteered) on to the next page. Thus, after the visitor fills in the form with his name, etc., he sees the next page in a way personalized with say, his name. This helps the customer feel at ease and more in touch with the marketer, and with the product the marketer wishes to sell.

Another thing to consider is putting up a call to action in your squeeze page PPC. A call to action is a short message telling the potential customer what is needed in order to purchase the product or service. This is accompanied usually by something catchy like, "Purchase now and save time and effort!"

The sales generated by squeeze page conversion are quite remarkable. Studies have proven that more than half of a site's visitors can become subscribing customers by effective squeeze page conversion. There are many websites that give excellent points to take advantage of this phenomenon. LeadPageGenerator.org offers tutorials on how to maximize your website's squeeze page conversion rates. How To Create A Guarantee

{ Posted on 3:15 AM by Mack }
Buzz It
by: Benjamin Bressington

You've heard it plenty of times before: Money back guarantee. If you're not satisfied with your purchase, we'll give you your money back guaranteed. Many businesses implement guarantees to provide their customers with a level of assurance that if they're not happy with the product or service, they have recourse.

Offering a guarantee to customers is a surefire way to build customer loyalty and to show your customers you genuinely care about them and their business. It's no surprise then that customers often feel more confident and more comfortable when purchasing a product or service that is backed by a guarantee, so it's important that you consider creating a guarantee for your product or service.

Don't be overprotective

Many business owners worry about implementing a guarantee because they fear customers will take advantage of them. Sure, it happens. You'll have those customers who take advantage of both you and your guarantee, but that shouldn't stop you from creating a guarantee that gives your customers a feeling of protection. Ultimately, the majority of customers are not going to take advantage of you.

Consider your track record

When creating your guarantee, consider your track record with customers. Does your product or service generally satisfy them, or do you receive a lot of complaints? If your product or service is generally received well by your customers, you're ready to sit down and create your guarantee.

However, if you receive considerable complaints and/or lose customers, you must first address those complaints. Only once you've fixed the problem or problems will you be ready to create your guarantee.

Don't try to outwit your customers

Your goal in creating a guarantee shouldn't be to find as many ways to make it as airtight as possible. If you add too many conditions to your guarantee, you're just going to make the guarantee less effective which, in the long run, will result in unhappy customers who may feel duped when the guarantee is voided due to one of the many conditions you imposed.

Keep it simple but specific

Your guarantee should not be pages and pages long, in such detail that your customers become confused or bored. Your guarantee should be written in easy-to-understand language and should be as concise as possible while still ensuring you thoroughly explain the terms of the guarantee.
Remember, you're developing a guarantee to build customer loyalty and to show that you care about your customers' business, so make sure that the language you use is straightforward but not defensive in any way.

Keeping your guarantee simple will also ensure that you have an easy time actually implementing the guarantee.

Inform your customers

Let your customers know you offer a guarantee by promoting it. For example, you can add a note stating that you offer a guarantee on your receipts and invoices. You can post a sign in your place of business, include it on your marketing materials, and ensure your employees mention the guarantee to every customer.

Marketing Your Campaign InTroubled Times

{ Posted on 3:13 AM by Mack }

If you think the economic chaos currently at play on the world financial markets has run its course, may I suggest a rapid trip to the nearest Starbucks for a cappuccino IV.

Because one has to wonder why it is that agencies and advertisers alike continue their marketing march to Hell.

It was Rance Crain, Advertising Ages editor-in-chief, who remarked in a past issue, But what is really broken in todays system is the amount of very bad advertising that gets approved by top management. Are CEOs so absorbed by trying to make their next deal that they tolerate the inept and stupid ads guaranteed to alienate their best customers?

These sentiments were echoed in the same issue by none other than the Godfather of Positioning, Al Ries, whose article on branding is brilliant in its simplicity.

Most advertising is mush, especially TV advertising. Thirty expensive seconds wasted trying to proposition the viewer without providing enough of the brands credentials for the consumer to take the offer seriously.

I ponder this nightly while perusing the ads in the Wall Street Journal over dinner like a parent searching in vain for a lost child.

How can advertisers spend a quarter of a trillion dollars a year (that is trillion with a T) with the ostensible purpose of selling their products and services using ads that do anything but?

Yes, the agencies create the ads, but presumably the CEO or someone in the clients senior management signed-off on them. I realize I speak heresy of the most inexcusable kind but here is a news flash ads are suppose to sell something.

Branding, the mantra of the last decade or so is fine, so long as it is not done to the exclusion of getting your message across and motivating the prospect to go to your store, pick up a phone, or click a mouse.

A review of ads running in national magazines and print media these days calls to mind the powerful scene portrayed by Burt Lancaster in the great Stanley Kramer film, Judgment at Nuremberg.

Lancaster, playing one of several judges who sat on the bench during the Third Reich, on trial for crimes against humanity, sits in stoic silence throughout the trail as Maxamillian Schell, whose academy award winning performance as the groups defense counsel, tries to convince the Tribunal (chaired by Spenser Tracy) that the judges were not aware of what the Nazis were really doing.

During a highly inflammatory cross-examination of Judy Garlands character (who had fraternized with an old Jewish man) by Schell, Lancaster has finally had enough and stands, his face a visage of fury.

In what may be his most prized performance outside of Elmer Gantry, Lancaster, his voice rising with intensity and volume with each word, tells Schell and the rest of the court that he and the others were aware, and asks in rhetorical outrage: Were we DEAF, DUMB, BLIND? It is a moving performance.

Lancaster I am not, but the question applies, are they DEAF, DUMB, BLIND?

I am thumbing through Forbes scanning the ads in search of one that attracts interest instantly. There is a picture of a red brick wall that takes up most of the full page, four color ad. It is a home builder or construction company, I think. But this is a wild guess.

I look more closely because I am writing this article. At the top of the wall is the word Elevate. Perhaps it is some kind of self improvement program.

I look at the copy that would best be read with the Hubble telescope. But I read it (which I would never have done under ordinary circumstances). It is an ad for Conoco Philips, the oil giant, explaining where others see an obstacle, we see a chance to elevate. Huh?

Did they have some recent failures, I wonder, and now feel compelled to tell people that they can overcome them?

In short, what in the name of John David Rockefeller has this got to do with selling oil and gas?

I have subsequently seen this ad in other business publications. It is someones bright idea for an advertising campaign. Unbelievable!

Who signed off on this...this...metaphorical brick wall, this Tony Robbinsesque PR ad?I am sorry, but what a waste.

I dont care how sexy the girl, how elegant the design, how sophisticated the message, if it does not generate a desire for the product that leads to increased sales and income; it hasnt done its job.

I close with what is a self-serving note that nevertheless happens to be true. Your ads should forward a message and a position that have come from the mind of your public, not the boardroom. That way they resonate and generate sales and income.

This is the kid of research we have been conducting for nearly a quarter of a century. If you want your ads to communicate and generate response, call us.

Features of Portable Banner Stands

{ Posted on 2:30 AM by Mack }
Buzz It
by: Mike Smith

As simple as they are, there are important differences in banner stand construction you should be aware of. Here are a few important features to pay attention to while constructing your banner stand.

Field Changeable Graphics

This means you can have different versions or messages for the same hardware unit and change banners anywhere, anytime, in minutes. Change them out, change them back. Great for keeping a whole sales force up to date without the expense of new hardware. Alternate graphics ship and store in cardboard tubes. Because this feature adds so much flexibility to your banner purchase, BenchmarkImaging carries 3 units that support this flexibility: ExpoPro, SUV Plus and E-plus.

The base

Base depth and weight dictate the stability of the banner stand. Less expensive stands answer this need with feet that rotate out. Lighter weight units, although easier to transport, fall over easier as they become heavy at the top. Best designs use a 10 lbs wide base with a low profile (low center of gravity). For outdoor use, where wind is a possibility you can use outdoor banners. Last, some floors are uneven or pitched instead of flat.

The pole

In order to pack conveniently, banner stand poles have to break down into pieces. Many units add an elastic shock cord to make the set up easier. But this also means you can only have one height for your graphic. If you want the flexibility of using your roll up banner as a tabletop unit, a shock-corded pole can prevent it. Cutting the cord may work but then the attachment to the top rail or base can become an issue.

Pole attachment to the base

Some retractable banner stands require the pole to screw on to the base. This is a real disadvantage for quick portable setups. None of our units assemble in this manner.

Graphic attachment to the top rail

This is important because if the attachment fails, the banner graphic will roll up into the base and loose all spring tension. After this happens, some units can be repaired but it probably won't happen until your show is over. Cheaper units use a single layer of double-sided tape for attachment. Better units employ mechanical clamping or adhesive envelopes to insure against having the problem.

Graphic attachment at the pole top

Some units use a hook to attach the top rail to the pole. This leaves the top of the pole sticking out above your graphic and lowers the aesthetic value of rade show displays.

Bags & Cases

Bags for the more expensive units look smarter and include extra padding to help protect your investment. None of the bags are safe for common carrier shipments. If your plan calls for shipping your display ahead, you should consider a banner stand with a "Hard Case".

4 Critical Questions to Answer While Planning Your Marketing Campaign

{ Posted on 2:21 AM by Mack }
Buzz It
by: Robert Johnston

You can’t have a successful marketing campaign if you don’t have a plan in place from the beginning. You need plan for your audience, your available budget, your marketing materials and most importantly, your marketing goal. Marketing goals often change from year to year, which is normal and expected. This means you can’t use the same marketing plan year after year because you need to take into account the changing marketplace and how your business has grown or changed.

By planning ahead, you can choose strategies that work well for your market at the right time of year and you’ll know ahead of time where you can afford to spend a little more money and where you might need to cut back to keep your budget intact.

To make the most of your budget as well as your people and their talents, you should ask yourself and your marketing crew the following questions:

1. What is our marketing goal? This is the first question you need to ask because the answer will affect the rest of the questions and your marketing campaign. The more specific and detailed your marketing goal, the easier it will be to create a campaign that will reach that goal. Increasing sales to a certain demographic by a certain date and by how much is far more practical goal than to “increase sales.” If your goal is to develop deeper customer relationships, then you’ll know ahead of time to allocate some of the budget toward greeting card printing for the holidays rather than direct mail pieces aimed at prospects.

2. Who is our target audience? This question needs to be answered at the same time the first question is answered. Your audience is part of your marketing goal. This is an extremely important question to answer simply because you need to know who you want to be buying your product so you can get to know them. If you are planning on expanding your market to include Baby Boomers when you’ve been targeting Generation X in the past, you need time to research Baby Boomer spending habits and the type of marketing they respond to most. Once you have a target audience, your marketing plan can be focused and narrowed to be more effective.

3. What is the current market? You need to know where your competitors are so you know how much competition is out there for the year. Are any new stores opening in your area that might be a competitor? How are your main categories of products selling? If the demand is going down, you need to address that demand and either add a new product to your line or market your product aggressively to try to bring demand back up.

4. Where is our target audience? You need to know how to reach your target audience where they already are. For instance, if your target audience is teenage girls, you need to be online and in magazines aimed at teenage girls. Advertising in the local newspaper will not be the best avenue to reach this target audience. Your marketing campaign will be much more successful if you go to your audience instead of expecting your audience to find you.

Making Money Online Is Easier Now Than EVER Before

The point of being online anymore, isint about just checking your email, there are millions if not billions of people making money online every single day. How do they do it? What steps are they taking? What do you need to know in order to make money online? I have a feeling this is going to be a long one, because there are hundreds of ways to making money online and making money online does not have to be mission impossible!

In this article Im not going to be talking about traffic, although traffic usually does equal money. In this article Im going to be talking mainly about different things you can do to make money, direct money, online. One thing I absolutely have to emphasize right now is the absolute need for a website. This can ultimately be the hub for more than half of your money making ops online. While Im writing this Ill assume you have a website, or your going to get one soon, because some of these options like CPM banners or affiliate links need to have a place to be posted. So heres a few options available to you.

These aren't ALL the things you can do to make money, just the ones Im most familiar with and know work.

Affiliate Programs - Almost every single site out on the internet has some sort of an affiliateship, affiliate program, profit sharing program etc. An Affiliate program is a program you join as an affiliate from a website. These can be large well known websites such as Amazon, AllPosters, ProFlowers etc.

Or they can be from other sites you may not have heard of. Check all of these sites out. A good place to find a directory for Affiliate Programs is a site called AffiliatePrograms. You can earn a percentage of every sale you make. If your a good salesperson this would be the way to go for you. Me, Im not so good at selling stuff, but that doesn't mean I dont belong to a few programs! They also have affiliate programs where you can get paid for getting people to do trials, or if you can get people to download things like software, e-cards, e-books etc.

Provide Products- If you have the capabilities or are already selling something offline, why not try doing it online. This is a really good idea if your product is something unique and isint like everyone else's. You can set up a free website, even find free hosting, set up shop online and voila your own e-store. How simple is that?!?

Write Articles- If your creative and articulate enough you can write articles, blogs, reviews or forum posts for people and they will pay you. You can also do this as a business if you want to, by creating your own website putting examples of your work on it, make a price list, so on and so forth.

Or you can do something even simpler. Go on forums, sites like scriptlance, getafreelancer, genuinejobs, or even craigslist and you will find a multitude of people looking for YOU to write articles for them. I love to write. I would write 50 articles a day if it was possible and getting paid by doing so is also incredibly satisfying and fun. Who doesnt love doing something they love to do? You can even goto Google and type in "freelance writing jobs", "freelance sites", or "writing jobs online" you will find lots and lots of pages, people, forums etc looking for this kind of work.

Domain Parking- If you own any domains online even if its just a handful you can actually make money from those domains. You can find a parking site, park your domains with the program, and make a percentage of the money thats made. These are search portals. You get paid a percentage when people goto your search portals and, search. Some programs offer optimization, different options, etc.

You shouldn't ever join a parking program where YOU have to pay them. Try sites like Sedo, TraffiClub, Parked, Fabulous etc. Some are better than others, not all pay the same, so check the sites out before you join! Try searching for "domain parking programs" or "domain motenization". Depending on how many people you get to goto your site, and the quality you could make good money from this. *** Always follow guidelines and TOS or your account could be terminated and it doesnt matter if you have 35cents or $35,000 owed to you. Break the rules and your done.

Freelancing- This sort of goes along with writing articles. If you know how to do something like write, do web design, web templates, web development whatever, you can do it as a freelancer. You can make actual money from this! Check out freelance sites, do a search on Google for "Freelance sites", "freelance jobs" or "freelancers". This will take you to many different sites where YOU might be able to offer your service(s).

Provide a Service Online- if you know how to do some of the stuff above, web design, web development, web hosting or you know other things like optimization, backlinks, how to submit sites to directories, how to bump peoples PRs up, you can provide this service to other people and they will pay you. Again you have to either offer a unique service or pay lower than your competition. Dont tell them I said that though!

MLM or Networking Marketing- I dont usually get involved with this stuff, only because of two reasons. One is a lot of these sites are scams. Two, about %99.9 of these programs make you pay. And it usually isint a few bucks. But if its something your interested in and you can afford to invest money into a scheme like this, do it! Be cautious tho.

Domain Real Estate- If you know anything about domains, and can get your hand on some good ones for however much your willing to spend, you can make a living buying and selling domains. Buy low sell high, type thing. You can sell domains pretty much anywhere but there are certain "official" websites for this kind of work, such as afternic and sedo. But you can also sell them on forums such as NamePros or DigitalPointForums. Dont think just because your selling them on forums you wont make good money. Ive seen people on NamePros selling and buying domains for as much as $35k!

Ok now Im going to go onto something a little different. In the beginning of this article I mentioned that I can tell you about things you can do online to make money but you will most likely need a blog or a website of some kind. Well now that we got a majority of the things that you can (usually do) with out a website, I want to dig in a little deeper and list the things you can do if you DO have a website or a blog.

First off let me just start by saying something about the blog/website. There are ways now a days that you can do this for hardly any money at all. If not for free. I set up my website with wordpress, I got a really nice theme/template that was %100 free and all i had to pay for was hosting which is literally a few bucks a month. You gotta spend money, to make money!

CPM Programs- Most likely if you have a blog or website you will be putting CPM banners or CPM links on your site. CPM= Cost Per Thousand. If you put CPM banners or links on your site you will get paid a certain amount of money every time someone views that banner, or rather every 1000 times someone views that banner.

Example if a site offers to pay you $1.50 CPM and you have 5000 visits, then you will make $7.50. I know it doesnt seem like a lot but you can have multiple program CPM banners on your sites. And you can usually have one banner per page per CPM program on your site. So it gets a little better when you raise the numbers from 5000 to 50,000 = $75. Sometimes you will also get paid if people CLICK on these banners/links too. It depends on the program.

Affiliate Links / Affiliate Programs- Having a blog or website is a good way to incorporate your affiliate programs/links into the content/layout of your website or blog. Example, I am an affiliate for Amazon. My main website is about food and drink.

So far I have made 3 types of sites from Amazon, all of which are for cook books. So if Im talking about a Chef I like, say Jamie Oliver, I can then hyperlink the word "Jamie Oliver", so when people click that link they will be directed to the site from Amazon I made about Jamie Oliver which include all his cookbooks. This is also a form of marketing!

Sponsor ads- You can charge people a certain amount of money and put their ads on a certain place on your website, known as "sponsors". It gives them great exposure and you get paid for charging them a certain fee, say per week or per month.

Featured Blogs/Articles- People can be featured on your site, you can write blogs about services or programs they offer. Another relatively close thing to this is a site called BlogVertise. You sign up with an account tell them what category your site is, and then different companies online choose you to write blogs about them. BlogVertise will then disapprove or approve these blogs and you will get paid. Thats pretty easy!

Product Blogs- This is similar to that above but instead of writing about the company for a site like BlogVertise or PayPerPost, you write about a certain product from this company. I did one last month for a company that wanted me to write about their unique and luxurious gift baskets. It had to be 4 paragraphs, had to include certain keywords, include 1 link to the product per paragraph. I mean its fun and easy, why wouldnt you do this!?!

Adsense and sites similar- This is the last one! This is another way you can make money online through your website. Sites like adsense, bidvertiser, and adbrite will allow you to put contextual "ads" on your sites. When people click these ads you will be given a certain amount of money per click. Once you build up enough money on your account they will send you a check, money through PayPal or allow you take make a EFT (electronic funds transfer) to your bank.

This was a lot of different ideas, options and things for you to check out online. Hopefully I gave you more than enough information for you to begin your search! Don't fret if at first your not making very much. Millionaires aren't made over night. It takes perseverance, determination, and patience. Go out and get yourself a blog or website today!

Seriously, I dont think I ever realized how important having a website could be. And not just any old website. If your going to have a blog or an article web site make sure you sit down every day and do at least 4 posts. Dont copy and paste even if the articles are not copy written. This is another mistake people make. If your going to take the time to do all this stuff, or even just 2 or 3 things, your going to want to do it right. Remember Content Is King.

If you have content that is unique and interesting, they will come! I wish you luck in your search and I hope you find some really great programs to join so you too can start making money online. Thanks for reading, this was a fun article for me!

How To Earn Good Income Through Articles And Website Content

If you aren't aware of it yet, you can make some pretty good money by writing articles and various other types of web content for the Internet. Whether you are looking at it from the point of view of a freelance web writer or you have a number of web sites that you manage, the possibility for some serious income is there.

Of course, you are probably not going to make millions doing any of these things, but you will have an interesting and enjoyable means to earn a pretty respectable and most importantly-steady income.
Let's take a look at the option of writing web content first, since that involves far less effort and investment to get started with."

All the many thousands of web pages that you can find on the Internet today all have one thing in common, and that is content. Without the presence of those articles that you see there, a website won't really amount to very much.

Now, those articles had to have come from somewhere, and that is where you and writers such as yourself come in. The market for professional web writers today is absolutely huge, and many thousands of people from all over the world are rising up to meet the demand. And we do mean all over the world; the nature of online communication being what it is, it is entirely possible for someone with a computer, a world processing program and a fast Internet connection to write web content for clients around the world, no matter where he or she is.

Okay, so far, so good. What about from the point of view of the web site owner? By featuring fresh, interesting, relevant and just plain useful content on your site, you have a number of ways to make money that are open to you. One of the easiest and most effective ways to that is by signing up for an account with targeted advertising companies such as Bidvertiser, Google Adsense, Adbrite, and many others. These companies typically work on a "per click" basis. They will provide you with ads that are relevant to the content of your site, the idea being that your visitors will click on them and you get paid a certain amount every time someone clicks on the ad.

One other way to make money is by signing up with an affiliate program. This will typically involve hosting a link to the company on your web site or blog. You then try to drum up interest in the product by either writing about it in your blog, posting a review of the product, or posting about it on another site and inviting readers to visit your web site for more information. You can even do all of these things together in order to attract the maximum number of visitors possible.

These are only a few of the ways that you can make money from web content. There will surely be newer and more lucrative ways to earn an income in the future, and hopefully this article has inspired you to look into other methods as well as to keep an eye on any future developments in the industry.

How To Make Money From Article Content

{ Posted on 2:05 AM by Mack }

There are millions of websites on the web that are built around content management systems. They all share some common factors. The home page is overloaded with links. There is usually a blog with short, non-descript posts, announcements, news, and press releases in it. There is a banner somewhere on the page, and there are Google ads.

Most Content Management Systems have a simple theme that leads visitors to a list of articles. The level of graphics varies, depending on the company, and the value of the content varies, depending on the webmaster's dedication to success.

The formula itself is fundamentally sound, it is the variations caused by human error, trends, and value that differentiate the sites that earn money, and those that do not.

The first thing to determine is whether a Content Management System needs to attract and keep visitors, or whether the purpose is to drive visitors to the advertiser's website.

Member Building CMS

A member building CMS is designed to attract a particular niche market and keep them for as long as possible. This is done using forums, chats, newsletters, and online courses. The entire site is built around a single theme, and is designed to do one of three things: entertain, educate, solve problems.

The advertising needs to continue to meet the member's needs. For example, advertisers may be trade magazines, online courses, book sales, member forums, and products that meet the needs, or solves the problems, of the members.

These CMS sites usually have live chats and other resources for the members. Two sites created for the writer's niche is www.inspiredauthor.com and www.authorsconnection.com or www.dabblingmum.com

Another form of member site is a blog community. These are divided into two types. The first type hosts individual blogs, like www.blogger.com. The second type is a blog community, such as www.communati.com.

This type of site has 'on the edge' content, equal to what is offered in many online courses or $50 ebooks. There are often live Topic Editors or Guides to talk to visitors and give them someone to talk to.

These sites do not fill their pages with Google code, because the objective is 'not' to send the visitor away, but to keep them, and pre-sell them to increase the sales within their network. Even if someone buys a product, they are usually drawn back into the community, moving up levels, until the member often becomes a moderator, or reaches a certain level of success.

Target Driving CMS

This is by far the most popular. This type of Content Management System includes www.about.com, www.ideamarketers.com, www.getfreecontentonline.com , or www.lifetips.com, www.fool.com

These sites are often link heavy and ad heavy. The content is often 'evergreen,' meaning that it is often outdated, and similar to thousands of other articles. The objective is to attract more visitors than their clients can, and then offer teasers that force the visitor to click an advertiser's ad to increase sales.

Selling Ads

There are several ways to sell ads on a CMS. The most popular is by using an agency like www.adbrite.com, www.commissionjunction.com, or www.clickbank.com. The CMS manager picks 10 - 20 advertisers with similar products and services.

Pay Per Post

This type of advertising involves writing a blog post on the niche topic, and twisting it to include a link from the advertiser. One of the biggest Pay Per Post advertisers is www.blogitive.com.

Pay Per View - Pay Per Click

These are the most popular, and the most frustrating. The main complaint is the sliding scale used to calculate how much the advertiser earns. Most CMS sites will only earn a few pennies per click. To succeed, a CMS must have a PR4 or higher, and receive millions of hits a month.

Advertising Networks

There are several good ones starting with www.fastclick.com. Although, www.tribalfusion.com is the most popular, and has high standards for publishers. Small businesses can try either www.adbrite.com or www.burstmedia.com

Any, or a combination of these, can turn an unprofitable Content Management System into a viable, and profitable business venture.

Make Money With A Website Without Selling

{ Posted on 1:57 AM by Mack }

by:Alan Liew

Using a website to make money online has become one of the most popular ways nowadays. There are several ways you can make money with website:

a) Sell your own products and services.

b) Sell other people's stuff (affiliate program).

c) Place Google ads on your website and earn whenever someone clicks a Google ad.

The first and second ways take a lot of time and require experience and knowledge of Internet marketing. The third option is much easier and quicker to make money online. To place Google ads on your website you need to first join Google AdSense program. You don't need a professional look or fantastic site to sign up with Google AdSense program. A clean and simple site will be good enough.

The content of your website can be any topic as long as it does not violate Google policies. You can read more about Google policies at https://www.google.com/adsense/policies. You can write a topic or subject that is related to your experience, area of expertise, interest or background. If you are an expert at something you can make your content valuable and useful to others by providing advice and educational resources. If your interest and hobby are sport cars, you may introduce the latest models of sport cars and discuss some of the best tools for building the sports cars.

If you have no idea of what topic to write or have no interest at all in writing something, you still can own a money making AdSense site. Your solution is create a website solely to publish articles written by different authors. Just choose one topic or more and put several relevant articles for each topic and place your Google ads on each article page.

Hiring a professional to build a site is expensive. Finding a freelancer to create a website will be much cheaper. However employing a freelancer is still not the most effective way to minimize your cost. The best way to minimize cost is use free website builder to create website. There are several free website builders allow users to build website without experience and technical knowledge. You can find these easy site builders by performing a search from the major search engines like Google and Yahoo. With site builder you can have a website or more absolutely free. You only pay for the domain name and website hosting.

Once you get your website launched. You'll need to figure out how to drive visitors to your website. Your website will not generate income if no one visits your site. There are several ways to get targeted visitors/traffic to your site fast.

Pay-per-click (PPC) programs. Pay-per-click (PPC) programs allow you to bid for top-ranking positions on the keywords you have selected. When a visitor searches the keyword(s) you bid on and then click through to your site, you pay the amount you bid. The two most popular PPC programs are Google Adwords and Yahoo Search Marketing. However it is costly to advertise on this two PPC search engines and probably you will face the problem of your AdSense earning can't cover the advertising cost. Fortunately, there are other alternatives such as Bidvertiser.com, Adbrite.com, Findology.com and so on. I recommend you advertise with Bidvertiser.com and Adbrite.com at the beginning as they are much cheaper to advertise with compare to Google Adwords and Yahoo Search Marketing. Bidvertiser.com and Adbrite.com are not search engine. When you sign up to advertise with them, they will distribute your contextual ads to the categories and websites within their network of your choice. You have no doubt will advertise on those categories and high traffic sites related to you website. You should also consider select those unrelated categories as well because these categories could send you targeted visitors and increase your AdSense revenue. Don't set your bid too high. Just anyway from 6 cents to 9 cents should be good enough to drive hundreds of targeted visitors to your site within few days. As long as the daily AdSense earning greater than the daily advertising cost, you can continue your ad campaigns.

RSS advertising. RSS advertising is a free away to gain more exposure for your website. By creating an RSS file and submitting it to those RSS directories and search engines, the links to the content in your website will appear in front of those who read information using RSS readers or news aggregators and as a result driving targeted visitors to your website. Need more explanations? You can go to Google and enter the search term ‘make an RSS feed'. You will find detailed explanations of RSS and step-by step instructions on how to create an RSS file to increase your website traffic. Be patient, it will take you several days to learn and understand RSS. Some RSS sites also show an easy option to make RSS file without knowledge of HTML code by using free software tools.

Give away free content. Another free way to increase your website traffic is write articles and submit them to free content websites. Your articles can drive thousands of visitors to your site within weeks if your content is impressive.

There are other effective ways to increase traffic for your website. You can find a ton of free information and resources about website marketing and promotion from search engines. The more traffic you can drive to your website the higher your AdSense earning will be.

What Tagging Is and Why It Matters

{ Posted on 8:55 PM by Mack }
Buzz It
by: Mark Kimathi

The superiority of classical taxonomies like the Dewey Decimal is being rivaled by "Tagging". The Dewey Decimal groups the worlds' information in to ten major categories. If you have used a library you may be aware of numbers used on the spine of books. For example, the numbers 600-699 are dedicated to the category Technology.

The number 630 is specifically for books on Agriculture and a related technology, while 636.7 is used on all books about the animal dog. To the not so "schooled", it may make no sense grouping dogs under technology; however the Dewey's classification has served the world well for years. It has made it easy to find information in any library anywhere in the world.

Yet true to its nature, the internet is turning information classification on its head through Tagging. Tagging involves a user assigning a single word to a piece of content. This word is usually the one the user most associates the content with. It is also the word they are likely to use to find that piece of content again. So even with increasing amounts of content to retrieve, the user is able to group their information in a manner they best understand.

And to make matters even better, the user can tag the same content with several tags. For example, that photo for your wedding anniversary last year can be tagged "wedding" and "anniversary" and "2006" as well as "honey". And whenever you searched within any of those tagged categories you will find the same photo.

If you were to consider only yourself tagging your wedding anniversary photo with three tags it does look orderly. But consider you sent out this photo through Flickr to your family friends. Each will definitely tag it very differently; and this is where the chaos begins.

For example a Stephen King novel would be tagged as "horror" by one, "ghost-story" by another while the literature professor will tag it "pop-culture". Infact one of the allures to tagging sites is to check out what others are tagging, because we know very well that we do not think the same.

A research by Pew Internet is showing that a significant portion of the internet market is tagging.
