3 easy ways to improve your Google Adwords campaign!

by:Gordon McNevin

We’re all trying to improve our ROI on our Google Adwords campaigns so we get the most for our money. Let’s get straight into how we can improve your Google Adwords Campaigns below!

Method 1 – Improve your keywords!

A lot of people often think that they need to target as many keywords as possible to do with the product or service they’re offering. They think “the more people clicking my ads and viewing my product pages, the more money I’ll make”. This couldn’t be further from reality! Just because your ads are appearing tens of thousand times a day and getting hundreds of clicks doesn’t mean they’re the ‘right’ people wanting to buy your products and services!

You need to target keywords that are buying keywords and not browsing keywords! Buying keywords are phrases that end in “review”, “prices” or phrases that start with “buy”. For example, “flat screen TV” would be a browsing keyword while “flat screen H77 prices” are people who are looking to BUY the product!

So remember, research what are BUYING keywords and not BROWSING keywords. It’s all about your ROI not impressions and clicks!

Method 2 – Improve your landing pages!

You’re using targeted landing pages, right? I sure hope so! Landing pages are the pages your users end up on once they’ve clicked your ads. You really should make a landing page for every Adgroup you create. This way if people are searching for “Growing Peas” and click your ad titled “Growing Peas the Easy Way” your landing page should be all about growing peas! A well constructed and targeted landing page will dramatically improve your Quality Score (QS) and in turn reduce your CPC rate. Oh yes, and greatly improve your profit!

Method 3 – Write ads people want to click!

Countless times I’ve noticed ads that just bore me while I’m looking for something to buy. Entice the users is an absolute must for Google Adwords! If you’re Ads don’t get clicks your Quality Score will decrease and in turn increase your CPC rate which is a very bad thing. Make ads that list benefits and unique selling points that set you apart from the competition. Your headline should contain the keyword you’re targeting so Google makes this bold and your add copy should shout BENEFITS BENEFITS and yes, BENEFITS! Search for your products and see what your competition is doing. Make yours better!

There you have it. 3 quick and easy ways to improve your Google Adwords campaigns in a matter of minutes! To greatly improve your campaigns by a huge margin please visit my Beating Adwords Review. Thanks for reading and stay tuned for my future articles!

The Mistake of Not Using The 3 Kings of Internet Marketing

You want to get on Page One Google and Page One Bing and Page One Yahoo - the three major search engines at this time……and most importantly, you want to have a site that converts your visitors to customers. Right?

You have a killer website, great content and precisely targeted SEO planning with implementation (I call these the 3 Kings) But are they enough? If you do it right, the 3 Kings will include results in converting your visitors to paying customers.

Your internet marketing, like your other sources of advertising, should pay for itself, otherwise, why do it?
Now I know companies like Geico who spend over 70% of their income on ads to build a brand…….they have unlimited sources and are trying to get a name in the market, not unlike CocaCola has done. (Interesting note is that both Geico and CocaCola are owned by Warren Buffett who said of Coke's branding, "If you had a hundred million dollars to spend on ads, I don't think you could match Coke's market penetration").

We're not talking about brand building here……we're talking about being first to the market and capturing the customers! The internet is different than the outside world of interruptive marketing (radio, tv, billboards, etc.) It is a marketplace of directness, one where people are already looking for very specific information, products, and services.

Done properly, your internet marketing approach will bring your company and products to those who are already looking. Your goal is to surface among those who looking for your type of product or service!

The goal is to get your consumer to land on your page and purchase your product or service. Getting consumers to engage your website is not a liability or expense but rather a necessity regardless of the method used to drive traffic.

Getting to the top of page one Google and the other major search engines for your product entails exact strategies, SEO work and Internet Marketing that should pay for itself.

You have all the bells and whistles and the sizzle, and now, at the end of the day, it is still all about the steak and how many orders you get, how many leads were generated and how many prospects are in the pipeline.

Sometimes we forget to look at the big picture of search and fully embrace "the marketing part" of Internet marketing that is supposed to generate a return on your investment.

Increasing traffic is important but fine tuning your approach to make it about increasing the conversion rate of the traffic you receive is ultimately what it's about. Let's be realistic, SEO delivers traffic but what good is it if they bounce or never get to your ordering page?

What about targeting "your best page"? Engagement matters and the notion of "your best page" is a perspective that is unique to everybody who visits your website. But the idea is, this elusive concept and it may impede you from viewing each page as its own best landing page by infusing it with something more than just traffic and attention.

Combine that with the fact that even "that attention" will change based on the variable of the visitors original intent and mood. Are they simply there to window shop or research or is buying the intent or their visit?

With the advent of analytics our websites are like having a live litmus test running in the background around the clock. To see which pages have the highest yield of visits, traffic and engagement is no marvel. It is available to everyone.

If sales from your site is your objective, it's important that you understand that SEO is only one part of the equation. Traffic must convert or you should change the format of your value proposition and call to action so that it does.

People either approve of your content, layout and design and invest enough attention to contextually extract relevance from your web page or they don't.

Depending on how well you implement "the total package" (clear conversion objective, clear benefit to them) can illustrate and provide a solution to their problem or manage to hit an emotional or trigger.

If you make that the priority, then no amount of SEO will ever matter because each visitor that lands on each page will have a higher rate of conversion which it the basis of return on investment.

Getting to the top of page one in Google and Bing is great, but just makes sure that you have done your homework about who your audience is and what expectations they have when it comes to what they get and what you give.

At the end of the day, SEO should pay for itself. If it does not, then perhaps you should think about the most cost-effective method to sell whatever type of information, product or service you offer so that it does.

Killer web design, relevant content and properly executed SEO Strategy, all work together as a whole. Bring the 3 Kings to your internet presence and make it all work for YOU. Miss one and you miss maximizing your ROI and conversions.

Getting your website to page one in google is entirely possible and maximizing conversion is too! Hang in there! Call on the pros when you need them.

Here's to your success!

Adwords For Beginners - 2 Proven Tips to Start Making Money Instead of Losing It

I have been searching online for ages to find a good adwords for beginners guide. With so much information on the subject you have to be careful with what you go and use. Some sources are just a waste of time and others a waste of money.

So what makes a good adwords for beginners guide? Personally i would want a simple layout with some screenshots or videos, showing me what to do. A step by step guide would be useful for newbies through to advanced people. The guide would need to have real information that i could implement and see results from.

Recently i came across such a guide and boy was i impressed. The sales page was unique and not only did the authors not talk about themselves...they explained how they could help and instruct us. It seems they were putting the customer first and this for me was great.

Below are 2 secret tips that i found out from the guide.

1. Split test your ads. Testing is the key to a successful campaign...without it how would you track your ads performance?

2. Use highly relevant ad copy and keywords. Google search engine is based around relevance and the more you make them happy...the more they will reward you with lower cost per click and a higher quality score.

But unlike any other advertising system, Google can immediately provide these results to you, so in a matter of hours, you can determine if a given ad is working. Pay per click gives you immediate access to targeted customers.

The Top 7 Free Advertising Ideas

{ Posted on 8:58 PM by Mack }

by:Katie Finken

If it is free, it’s for me! Many top internet business owners work with free advertising since it gets their message in front of the public without spending a cent. Your only investment is your time. How is your time worth to you? Can you spend minutes a day for the cost of your products?

If your answer is yes, keep reading. You will find 7 ways to advertise for free. Each venue is a valuable resource by itself, but when you develop a marketing campaign using each venue, you will leverage your business tremendously.

  1. Classified Ads – There are many popular sites to use, such as Kijii, Craig's List, and even newspapers. If you do not keep up with your ads, they will expire and no longer be in front of your target market. It is well worth the effort.
  2. Forums – This is a great way to really target your customers. Find the forums geared to your industry. When making a post, be sure to answer posts with a knowledgeable answer and always put a link to your business in your signature file. Forums are not a place to advertise heavily, answer a question or two, and just leave your address. This way you are able to establish a name for yourself in your community and get people to visit your website.
  3. Articles – This method can be a bit slower moving than others, but highly effective. Pretty much what you need to do is write articles pertaining to your website. Then submit your masterpieces to article directories; Articlesbase.com and advertise with your link in the resource box. Increase your traffic and reach larger target market.
  4. Directory Systems – These are free for people to post a website URL and there are plenty of them. To find a directory, all you need to do is a simple search using your niche market. You will still raise your ratings in the search engines considerably if you happen to stumble upon non-reciprocal links.
  5. Reciprocal Links – These are the most valuable links on the internet. This is because compared to non-reciprocal links they are stronger. In addition, these are tremendously beneficial when generating traffic. The purpose if this is to find other sites within your niche to link to. Reciprocal links are one of the best ways to raise your ranking on search engines.
  6. Opt-In Emails – This method requires a email list where the recipients choose to join while visiting your site to create a qualified email list. You can also build a list by offering free information or when they purchase a product. Having a great email list allows you to send emails to people already interested in your niche.

What are the best niche topics for Adsense sites?

{ Posted on 8:42 PM by Mack }
Buzz It

by:Victor Johnson

This is a question that has been asked again and again by many upcoming publishers. But the answer to the question isn’t as simple as one might expect. Adsense niche topics are rare often difficult to find (some webmasters spend months, researching, writing content etc…). They are also very difficult to define. They are as elusive as they are precious. An Adsense niche topic can be a potential goldmine especially one that has some longevity.

Due to their precious nature people are reluctant to divulge information relating to Adsense niche topics. No one wants to add a whole armada of competitors to siphon off the small but dedicated number of visitors that use their niche Adsense site.

However, there are trends that people can use to get a measure of a potential Adsense winner. Firstly, Adsense doesn’t work well on religious, political or personal sites. There just isn’t enough advertiser competition in these areas to make it worthwhile. For instance, you can build a quality site like mydogjoe.com but you are not going to get any revenue if you are only getting two visitors and one sole advertiser. But again there are exceptions. You can alternatively decide to build a large quality niche site on Greek myths for example and become an undisputed authority on the topic. With this you can get a reasonable level of traffic going through your site. Even if the quality of advertisers are poor relating to a particular topic, you can still generate a reasonable amount of Adsense income if you have a reasonable number of visitors passing through your site.

Secondly, sites that have a commercial edge have normally worked well with Adsense. These sites can be based on themes that focus on a range of popular offline products and services such as insurance, health and high end technological products. Advertisers are normally clambering over themselves for the best Adsense publishers and they more than willing to pay that extra bit to out compete their rivals.

However, finding a true niche in this area is nearly impossible, simple because it is extremely saturated. Nearly every conceivable niche has been filled already. But you never know… the fact is that a good Adsense niche topic can be found in any field.

There is no such thing as a definitive list containing the best Adsense niche topics. And if someone claims to have one, don’t trust them. The best way to find the ideal Adsense niche topic is to discover one yourself. To do this properly you have to do some quality research which requires a lot of work and dedication. But it is well worth the sacrifice, considering the potential payoff. You can use Google’s keyword search tool (which is free if you sign up for one of Google’s services) to find out about the keywords related to some niche themes you may be interested in. Google’s keyword tools also gives you an idea of the number quality of the ads that are related to your themes of interest. You can then use the information you have gathered to isolate profitable Adsense niche topics.

Advertising With Ppc - 3 Steps To Get You Going

Step 1 - Creating Your Account
There are many places where you can advertise with the PPC method. For this article we will use Google AdWords.

Go to Google AdWords and click on signup now to setup your account. You can choose Starter Edition or the Standard Edition. Its entirely up to you.

Step 2 - Creating your campaign
Once you have setup your account, now you need to setup your campaign. You will select a name for your campaign and ad group. Once you are done with this part you will need to create your text ads that will be displayed to your potential customers. If you need examples just go to google.com and search for something similar to what you are selling. Once you have the body of the ad figured out all you need to do is put your display URL which is visually displayed with your ad and the URL that people will go to when they click on your ad.

The important part of this is to make sure that you setup ads that are going to catch the eye of potential customers. You also want to make sure that you don't get a ton of clicks from browsers that have no intention of purchasing your product or service.

Through AdWords you also have the option of doing image ads (ie. banners, skyscrapers, etc.), print ads, and tv ads. All of these can be very good methods of promoting products, but text and image are the cheapest methods to start with.

Step 3 - Configuring your ad group
I would recommend that when you first start your campaign you should keep your CPC (Cost-Per-Click) to a low amount. I usually start anywhere from .05 to .15 and let the campaign run for a few days to see how it does. If i like the results I will leave it alone. If not I can up the CPC amount. This way you can see how much good traffic you can get for a small price.

You also have the option of setting CPC per keyword. If you have a keyword that isn't performing very well, but you think it should be then try changing the CPC just for that keyword. This way you keep your average CPC down and your total cost down.

You can also set the area for which your ads will appear. This can be very useful if you only want to focus your campaign in a certain area. There is no sense in advertising a small business in Colorado to people in Florida unless you want to do business there. This setting is adjusted in the campaign settings area under Target Audience. You can choose select cities or there are bundles that you can choose from.

The most important thing is to let your campaign run for a few days to see how it performs before you change things. Your best gauge of performance is letting it run and adjusting from there.

Adding Pay Per Click Traffic To Your Marketing Mix...

{ Posted on 1:48 AM by Mack }

by:Richard Martin

YOU are missing out...!

In the 1990s & the early 2000s, a lot of online businesses invested heavily in search engine optimization to drive traffic to their sites. And it worked...SEO is still a very effective strategy to this day...in fact, SEO should be a main component in your overall marketing mix...Besides, the price can't be beat...After the time it takes to set it up, natural search engine traffic itself is FREE...

However, focusing ONLY on SEO is a mistake in some markets because you may be missing out on other additional profitable sources of traffic...and one of them is pay per click advertising (PPC ads are the little text ads you see lined up on the right hand of the search engine results).

So, what's the difference between SEO & PPC traffic & which one is better?

Take a look:

1. Guaranteed Traffic.

A. Pay per click traffic is virtually guaranteed...While you should make sure that your bid amounts actually are profitable for you, you CAN almost count on generating traffic if you bid high enough...

B. In contrast, natural traffic is free but it can disappear at any time. You are guaranteed nothing...Anyone who was around during the big "Florida" update a few years ago can tell you that. Search engines constantly change their algorithms & when they do, you can see a lot of your traffic go up in smoke.

2. Fast vs. Slow.

A. PPC traffic starts IMMEDIATELY...If there are enough searches & your bid is high enough, your traffic starts within a matter of hours in many cases...

B. However, natural search engine traffic takes time to develop. While natural search engine traffic is great because it's free, it's not immediate...Search engines seem to index content every 30 to 60 days & it can take that long or longer to see real results...

3. The Learning Curve.

A. Pay Per Click is slightly easier to learn & manage than SEO (though it's still pretty tricky). It takes time to learn the PPC advertising systems, but you can at least figure out some of the concepts in less than a month...

B. In contrast, search engine optimization really is a "game" that should be left to professionals these days. There are people who've been doing SEO for 12+ years now & there is a very good reason why it'll cost you $10,000 to get a professional optimization done. There is an entire science to optimizing & maintaining a site...It takes years to learn SEO & it takes even longer to become at proficient at it...

Theoretically, both of these techniques should help you reach the same target market & combining these tactics can be an EXTREMELY effective way of driving traffic. While some people have sites that get 100% of their visitors from links & free search engine traffic, a mix of sources is optimal...

As mentioned above, Pay Per Click still requires a good deal of effort to master...So, here are a few things to experiment with in your PPC campaigns:

1. Get Attention & Drive Home a Benefit.

I read somewhere that we are now bombarded with something like 1500 advertising messages a day...therefore, your ads need to "break through the clutter" & get attention without being too "hypey." After you've got attention, try communicating a powerful benefit that your target market will respond to. These classic advertising principals work very well in pay per click.

2. #12390 Numbers & $28.93 Prices.

Experiment with listing your price & numbers in your ad...Try listing a product number like "Model #73298," the number you have in stock like "Only 148 left," or the price itself like "$59.94." This can help weed out tire kickers because anyone clicking on the ad will have already accepted that what you sell costs money. While this may lower your click through rate, hopefully only people who are farther along the "decision process" toward making a sale will be clicking the ads...

3. "Spying" For Profit.

One thing that can help lower PPC costs MASSIVELY is using other peoples' data...Keywords that don't convert or just plain cost too much can be huge cash drains (I speak from experience). While keyword research is a MASSIVE topic & it overlaps with discussions of buyer intentions & landing pages & a LOT more, you can benefit from spying on profitable campaigns by investing in 3rd party software tools...

Finally, try experimenting with a combination of these tactics & the TONS of other effective ones out there. Run split tests to see what your market really responds & get the technology that helps weed out unprofitable phrases even before you start...

Now, get going & start increasing your sales today...a world of profitable traffic awaits!
